2011/7/20 4:16:01 Whether, how big he/she is an actor or a politician ‘tongue slip’ can land them in big troubles. Here is a fine example of it.
We might be aware that, the sexiest woman on the earth and Bollywood No.1 actress Katrina Kaif’s mother is a British national and father an Indian. Hence, she enjoys dual nationality and possess passport accordingly. Several times media has asked about this point and she again and again has clarified their doubts also.
But, when recently a media person in Bollywood reiterated the same question to her, she burst upon him with fury. She said “Yes, indeed I have dual nationality. What is wrong with it? I am proud to be half Indian and half European. There are thousands and lakhs of people on this globe who are dual nationals. It is not a sin to be a dual national. Even, Rahul Gandhi is also half Indian and half Italian.”
The concluding sentence of her statement has created sparks among the Congress party circles. Some over enthusiastic members of Rahul and Sonia bajan team have spit fire on the Bollywood beauty. Perhaps, she might be regretting for mentioning Rahul’s name in her statement, but it is too late to do anything.
But, while giving a fitting retard to her statement, senior Congress leader and the party official spokes person Manish Tiwari also made the same mistake of her. Speaking to media he said “Who is Katrina Kaif? I have never heard any such name until now. After all we don’t need to respond to all the unknown person’s statements. If, some Johnny Lever or somebody else makes comments again, do we need to respond again?”
Later, Manish Tiwari also has to put his foot in his mouth for the same mistake made by the Bollywood beauty. While eagerly defending his prince Rahul Gandhi, he also let his tongue slips and brings the ace comedian of Bollywood Johnny Lever in between the controversy.
Hence, he is forced to clarify the media that he is not intended to hurt anyone including Johnny Lever as just it is a casual mention of his name. But, why don’t the Congress men understand that, Katrina also casually mentions Rahul Gandhi’s name?
2006/10/29 4:37:59 It seems 2006 is a very lucky year for Mega Star Chiranjeevi. He was honoured with a top civilian award like 'Padma Bhushan' this year, got his daughter married and now there is another surprise. In 2004, he played hero in 'Shankar Dada MBBS', wherein the hero gets a doctor degree with no basic education. Andhra University had announced that it was going to award doctorate to Chiranjeevi for his services to the Telugu film industry and also for his social consciousness. It may be mentioned here that Chiranjeevi, taking a cue from Mother Teresa, jumped into social service. He started Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust and with the help of his fans organising blood banks and eye banks. Chiranjeevi's fans had also taken up plantation of saplings to maintain the ecological balance. In this backdrop, the Andhra University had decided to honour him with a doctorate. The award would be presented to Chiranjeevi on November 6 at a grand function in Andhra University. Andhra University is also awarding a doctorate to former Andhra Pradesh governor Mr Rangarajan, the financiar adviser to the Prime Minister, on the same day.
