At a Sai temple in Film Nagar, film star M Mohan Babu and veteran director K raghavendra Rao performed special poojas along with their family members.
On this day the disciple offer ‘puja’, a ceremonial respect to their guru (a guide with religious believes). It is celebrated on the full moon day of ‘ashad’ a month according to the Hindu calendar.

The young and bubbly actress Gopika is quite different from the run of the milk actresses. We are not talking about films and acting. It is about her views on life and her attitude. Gopika is thankful to god for giving her the success and money.
She says that name and fame are not everything I life. She wants to do her bit for the less privileged. And now she is quite firm in her resolve, she would start an orphanage or an old age home in the future. This is her way of saying ‘Thank You’ to God.
Gopika, who was seen with Mammootty in the superhit Mayavi released last year, has joined the superstar this year again for Anwar Rasheed’s Annan Thambi, being shot in Pollachi.
Lakshmi Rai plays the other female lead in this film which has Mammootty in dual roles. Gopika has also been signed for debutante director Akku Akbar’s new film, Verthu Oru Bharya, starring opposite Jayaram.

Though Gopika had already starred with Mohanlal in 'Keerthichakra', she did not play his pair. Lakshmi Gopalswamy was his leading lady in the movie.
Need not to say anything about noted producers Dil Raju and Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji). Both of they were known for making big budget movies only. But, the success of small film ‘Ala Modhalaindhi’ seems to be influenced them to some extent. Now, they are planning to make small budget films also. Hence, their eyes struck upon a Hindi film ‘Tanu weds Manu’ played by Madhavan and Kangana Ranauth. Surprisingly, this film was given an average rating by film critics, yet both our producers were eager to grab the remake rights of this film!

Gorgeous Gopika seems to have taken a leaf out of the book of her colleagues in Malayalam film world. Heroines like Meera Jasmine , Nayantara , Asin and Navya Nair have all hopped over to neighbouring states after firming up their position on home turf.
The policy has paid off for Gops also who will now figure in a Telugu film titled ‘Veedu Mamuluvadu Kadu’ directed by Ravi Sharma. Rishi and Samrat will be her heroes in the film. In Mollywood, of course, Gopika is going strong. Her latest movie, ‘Mayavi’ against Mammootty has become one of the biggest hits in recent times.
So much so, she has been snapped up for another project with Mammootty titled ‘Nasrani’. Then, she is also part of a film called ‘Mulla’ in which Dileep will play the male lead, according to the buzz.
Ask Gopika why she isn't starring in any new Malayalam films and she'd say that she's very busy in Tamil with a handful of new assignments. Ask Gopika why she isn't acting in that many new films in Tamil and she'd tell you that she's busy in Malayalam. Maayavi was her most recent release in Malayalam. There aren't any new offers in Malayalam for the time being. When it comes to her films in Tamil, she is starring as Sundar C's heroine in his new film which is the remake of Spatigam.
Why did the actress so completely run out of offers in both the languages at the same time? The answer is simple. Gossips are on that her manager is charging exorbitant rates from producers and directors who are approaching her. He's doing this because he wants more commissions. The actress probably hasn't yet realized the damage that her manager's greed is causing to her career.

The fake visa scam and the issue of actress Asha Saini being arrested for trying to smuggling out a girl by claiming her to be her make up artist has sent shockwaves in Tollywood. Many top producers and director are also said to be involved in this. Mallikarjuna Rao said to the media that some time back a delegation of about 20 artists went to the US to take part in TANA conference.
AVS tried to include his brother in the delegation as an astrologer. The US consulate did not issue a visa to him stating that the services of an astrologer were not needed in a cultural team. AVS now wants to know what this has to do with the visa scam.
Now actress Gopika is the latest to join the bandwagon of sexy starlets willing to expose onscreen. It's a known fact that she is endowed with beauty and talent; yet the producers and directors have been reluctant to offer her the role of a heroine due to her reservations about exposing her anatomy.
But now, much to the delight of all the directors, she is willing to shed her clothes to the extent a cinematographer can exploit. She has already set an example for herself in the film Veedu Maamoolodu Kadu, in which she did a steamy sequence getting drenched in rain and showing her curvaceous figure.

When producer/actor Prakashraj announced his plans to remake the Malayalam blockbuster 'Udayanaanu Thaaram' in Tamil, there were some things he didn't have any second thoughts about. Prithviraj was going to play Mohanlal's role. Prakashraj was keen on playing the role that Srinivasan did. Problem was with finding a heroine.
Prakashraj had initially selected Trisha for the role. But soon she announced that she wasn't interested. Now, nobody knows why she walked out. We don't know if she was removed because the filmmakers were not comfortable about the problems with her fan-clubs. Maybe she didn't want to play the role of an over-the-hill actress who ends up falling in love with a rookie director. But now, Gopika has stepped in to play the role.
