Producer Ravi Agarwal and Tanveer didn't have to struggle to find a big name to present the film. They organised just one preview of "Deadline" and three corporate houses pitched in. They finally zeroed in on Percept Pictures.
"Who says that films are not selling these days? A good film gets buyers any time. We did not even show our film to distributors. We had three corporates interested in presenting the film and we went with Percept Pictures because their network is very strong. We are very happy with them," said Agarwal.
"'Deadline' will create my identity as a writer and director. This will become my reference point," said Tanveer.
According to him, the story is not entirely unusual but its presentation will make it unique.
"Deadline-Sirf 24 Ghante" has one of the best technical teams with Baba Azmi for cinematography, Dileep Shukla for screenplay and dialogue, Sanjay Sankla as editor, Bijon Dasgupta for art direction, Bhiku Verma for action and Jitendra Chaudhary for sound.
Deadline stands, no agitations due to Jayashankar’s death: Kodandaram
2011/6/26 16:55:33 Accepting that the deadline of June 25 for the elected representatives from the region to resign has passed and the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee has not acted against the Legislators who had not heeded the deadline, TPJAC convenor M Kodandaram on Sunday said that the agitation for Telangana is currently subdued due to the demise of its ideologue Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar.
However, Prof Kodandaram warned the elected representatives that there was no question of extending the deadline the TPJAC had set.
“The is no change in the deadline set for elected representatives from Telangana to resign from their posts as the Centre has not announced a clear statement on Telangana state yet,” he told media persons at Chotuppal in Nalgonda district.
“The TPJAC’s activities have been subdued due to the demise of Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar. We will resume, and in fact intensify our agitation for Telangana after a reasonable time, in homage to Professor Jayashankar,” Prof Kodandaram promised.
He hastened to point out that all agitational programmes, announced earlier, would begin from July 3.
The separate Telangana spearhead took the opportunity to reiterate his demand that the state government conduct the recruitment test for the posts of Sub-Inspectors of police only after the Clause 14 (F) is deleted from the Presidential Order.(INN)
Will withdraw strike call if T deadline is set: Swamy Goud
2011/8/9 10:34:36 Amidst increasingly strident calls to the employees to withdraw their threat of a general strike from August 17, TNGOs president Swamy Goud on Tuesday said that the employees would do so only if they get an time-bound assurance of the bifurcation of the state.
Mr Swamy Goud told media persons here that the employees would roll back their agitation for separate statehood if the elected representatives from Telangana announce a time frame for achieving the separate state.
He said, “The elected representatives have failed to give assurances to the employees on when can separate Telangana statehood be achieved.”
Mr Swamy Goud challenged the elected representatives to set a deadline for achieving the Telangana. The TNGOs chief further said that the elected representatives have never given concrete assurances to the employees that they would achieve statehood for Telangana.
“However, the employees have extended moral support to Telangana elected representatives, who are agitating for Telangana statehood,” he said.
Mr Swamy Goud added that there would be no need to launch the employees’ general strike from August 17, nor the need for invoking the Essential Services Maintenance Act if the Centre takes a decision on Telangana statehood.(INN)

Fee reimbursements too should be brought under ESMA: Danam
2011/8/6 16:52:18 The people of Telangana will be in a fix again with the Telangana Employees JAC leaders remaining adamant and government also neglecting them, relying on the ESMA handle.
Labour Minister Danam Nagender categorically stated before media persons at the Secretariat on Saturday that apart from the essential commodities like rice, wheat, salt etc, fee reimbursement also is an essential service in the absence of which poor students suffer.
He came in defence of Departments being brought under ESMA as it was taken as a precautionary measure to help people sustain their livelihood. The students’ unions also protested over the Finance Department coming under the purview of ESMA.
An argument put forth by the leaders of all hues pushed the government particularly the Minister to the wall.
It was pointed out that the state government imported Australian wheat in 2007 when shortage was experienced in the state.
Similarly in 2007, onion import was affected to tide over the crisis due to scarcity of the said commodity.
On the same lines it was contested that the post-metric scholarships and fee reimbursement was equally important as far as poor students were concerned, Mr Nagender opined.
The Minister’s concern is praise-worthy.
If the students move the court over non-payment of fee and scholarship where does the government stand?.
It was clarified that the Finance Department was brought under ESMA mainly to escape the ‘handicap’ of non-payment of salaries more so to higher ups like Chief Minister and so on.
In this connection, it was pointed that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj of the Bharatiya Janata Party commented on non-payment of pay to the Chief Minister when the TJAC of employees struck work for 22 days in February / March this year. It was ironical.
But according to reliable sources, it was made known that the TJAC of Employees, Teachers, Workers decided to go on strike from August 17, for the reason that the departments concerned in Secretariat begin their work on establishment (payment of salaries calculation etc ) from the said date.
The work related to payment of salaries would be completed by month ending if the staff concerned start the said strike from August 17. That is the deadline date for completing figure work/ calculations.
And that is exactly the reason why the government is keen on arriving at a solution for appeasing the TJAC leaders. In view of the deadlock over the talks between the group of ministers and the TJAC leaders, a delicate situation has arisen again much to the embarrassment of the government once again as the situation was being watched keenly throughout the country.
Only the time factor will decide who will gain the upper hand. As of now the government was in no mood to listen to the TJAC leaders’ plea to reverse the decision on ESMA.(INN)

2011/9/25 14:43:56 The South Central Railway has resumed its services across Telangana region on Sunday evening.
Soon after the announcement made by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Prof M Kodandaram that the 'Rail Roko' agitation would not be extended, the SCR released the schedule of trains to be operated under its jurisdiction.
Several major trains started departing for their destinations from Secunderabad and Hyderabad Railway Stations from Sunday evening. Similarly, the MMTS and other local services too were restored. Huge crowd was seen at the reservation counters at all railway stations.
The South Central Railway has suffered huge losses due to the two-day Rail Roko agitation by pro-Telangana parties. Apprehending violence and damage to railway property, the SCR itself had cancelled all its services in the region for two days. However, the services were restored immediately after the end of 'Rail Roko' deadline. (INN)
2011/9/12 14:36:46 Few days back, the organizers of this most essential services GVK Group wrote a strong letter to Kiran Kumar Government asking to release its share of funds due to it or else it is going to affect the services. CM assured releasing the funds, but seems not kept his word so far, which ultimately leads to non-payment of salaries to 108 staff for the last two months . Hence, the 108 Emergency van drivers are protesting at Indira Park on Monday against the non-payment of salaries by the GVK-EMRI management. This itself proves how much the Government is interested in continuing the welfare schemes launched by former Chief Minister late YS. Rajashekar Reddy.
