2008/2/22 5:55:27 The remuneration of heroes has zoomed to a new high in 2008 but there is a big gap between the heroes and heroines as far as remuneration is concerned. The following is the list of heroines and the remuneration that they command in 2008.
1.Ileana: 75 lakhs to one crore 2. Trisha: 50 to 60 lakhs 3. Anushka: 30 to 45 lakhs 4. Nayanatara: 50 to 65 lakhs 5. Shreya: 60 tot 75 lakhs 6. Genelia: 50 to 75 lakhs 7. Charmy: 30 to 35 lakhs 8. Mamatha Mohandas: 20 to 30 lakhs 9. Priyamani: 20 to 30 lakhs 10. Sneha: 20 to 30 lakhs
The buxom and hot babe Ileana was not seen in Telugu after Nenu Naa Rkshasi. She is now slowly returning to Telugu by bagging a couple of bit films. Ileana says that her career was going great but some negative campaign by two heroines has put a brake on her career temporarily.
Ileana blamed the ‘two heroines’ and said that they have started a negative campaign against her – saying that she was demanding one crore per film. This has led to Ileana losing out on some offers as the producers were apprehensive about her high remuneration. Ileana has however refused to name the two heroines. The speculation is now on as to the identity of the two heroines.
2011/10/25 8:16:13 Andhala Khazana Ileana nowadays is in news headlines for wrong reasons. There was buzz that, she has offered to work on half-pay to bag the Hindi movie Barfi. There is also another talk in the media that, she hikes her remuneration with her every film. This Goan beauty Ileana burst on media people when she came to know about these gossips.
She said "I have never demanded any producer to pay certain amount as my remuneration for acting in the films. They justify my market and pay accordingly. After all, when I have a good market and popularity why should I feel ashamed to take the matching remuneration? But, I have never insisted any producer to pay certain amount."
"At the same time, I need not run behind any films or film makers, because all of you know how busy am I? Then, the question of slashing my remuneration to bag a film doesn't arise at all. Whoever, spreads this kind of rumors should know whether people will really believe their write-ups at all? I know all these things are intended to increase their ratings among the people. But, they should realize one day it will boomerangs at them, if they continue with this kind of ideas."
It is quite common for heroes to romance with two heroines in a film. On some rare occasions we have seen even three heroines in a film.
However for superstar Rajnikanth everything has to be grand. So for his new film titled ‘Rana’ director KS Ravi Kumar is planning to rope in as many as six heroines. Even Rajnikanth is said to have okayed this idea.
The names of all the six heroines will be announced shortly.
Mammootty's magnum opus flick of the year Pazhassi Raja will have many specialties other than being teaming up with M.T. Vasudevan Nair and Hariharan. The film will be the first one to be shot on Pan Vision camera after the famous Vanaprastham.
The film will have three heroines--Padmapriya appearing as an aadivaasi girl, Sneha appearing as Pazhassi's wife and Hollywood actress Linda Arsanio as an English women. Linda Arsenio is presently acting with Samuel F Jackson in an English movie. Grapevine says that Linda was made to agree for the film, by paying her astronomical amounts as her remuneration.
2008/4/8 18:21:41 Ravi Teja has doubled his remuneration recently. The move comes in the wake of the tremendous success of his latest film ’Krishna’. Ravi Teja had to struggle very hard to rise up in the industry. He knows more than anyone else as to how fickle the film industry is.
One big hit and the producers line with lucrative offers. If the same actor fails to deliver a hit, then the producers simply vanish without a trace! So Ravi Teja has decided to go by the popular saying – ‘Make Hay while the Sun Shines’.
Ravi Teja used to charge around two crores per film. He is now asking for four crores per film, that is a 100 percent hike! Ravi Teja says that his films on an average do business of no less than 15 crores; hence the hike in his remuneration is justified.
Hero Dhanush has approached the court regarding non-payment of his agreed remuneration. Dhanush alleged in his complainant that he was promised a remuneration of Rs. 2 crore and later he reduced it by 25 lakh. The producer paid him only 50 lakhs and the remaining is still due.
He told that court that he even agreed to reduce it further by another 25 lakh but even after that the producer did nor pay him the balance amount. He sought the court’s order to stall the release of the film ‘Parattai ennigra Azhagusunandram’. The film is slated for release on April 26.
Jr. NTR is one of the most popular and successful heroes in Tollywood. He turned 24 the other day. He has given many memorable hits in Telugu and at one time was even said to be in contention for the top slot. He has so far acted in 14 films. However, his heroines do not move with him closely nor do they talk about him.
The reason is this. It is alleged that NTR is a loner and he prefers to keep his own company while on the sets. He is so involved with himself that the heroines prefer to keep to themselves. He is not known to interact closely with the leading ladies. Some of the heroines even allege that NTR is full of himself as he has a very big ego.
The latest film 'Gambler' starring Ajith, Trisha and Lakshmi Rai that was released few days back, has been promptly rejected by Telugu people, where as the Tamil version 'Mangatta' is running successfully in Tamilnadu.
During the shooting of this film, some spicy gossips have come into media circulation narrating about the cat fight between two heroines Trisha and Lakshmi Rai. However, the shooting was over without facing any major problems from the two beauties. But, when the film released Lakshmi Rai's statement about her role in the film irritates her co-star Trisha.
Lakshmi Rai told the media "When, the director Venkat Prabhu has planned this movie he first he comes to me asking to sign the film. He explained about the two heroines -Sanjana and Sona characters to me. He asked me choose one out of them and I selected Sona character for myself as it has more importance and weight in the movie than the other character. Entire movie depends on that character and so I have selected it."
Trisha, who played the Sanjana character, naturally irritates with her comments and retards stating "Even though there are two three heroines in a movie, the whole credit will goes to the main heroine only who pairs with the hero and certainly not to any other heroines, come how important their roles are in the movie."
Then, director Venkat Prabhu also says some thing that hurts Lakshmi Rai. He said "Actually, first we have planned to make a film with Aswin as hero and that's why we have selected Lakshmi Rai to pair with him. But, later when Ajith replaces Aswin, there were huge changes in the script and we have to rope-in a heroine who suits Ajith's range. So we have roped in Trisha to pair with him. Since, we have already given some advance to Lakshmi Rai towards her remuneration, we have decided to use her for playing 'Sona' role, a second heroine in this film."
2007/11/12 11:38:36 After Athidhi, price Mahesh Babu was slated to do the film titled Mirchi with Dr. Narayana. Just when the producer was getting ready to commence work on the film, comes the news that Mahesh Babu has jacked up his remuneration.
Corporate producers like UTV and Adlabs are now wooing Mahesh Babu in a big way. So Mahesh Babu has decided to encash on his popularity. He is now stated to be asking for 10 crore per film. As this is too big a remuneration for Narayana, he is now said to have dropped the idea of producing Mirchi.
The young heroines are showing that they are not heroines in films but also in real life. When film stars make it a point to flaunt their cars and go around chauffeur drive, some of the young heroines are known to arrive at the sets driving all by themselves.
Asin, Trisha, Shreya, Nayantara etc. are seen regularly arriving at the sets driving their own cars.
The young and bubbly Trisha is now reportedly the highest paid heroine in Tollywood. Despite a series of flops, she continues to demand a record remuneration and producers a re ready to shell out the amount demanded by her.
Reports say that she is currently asking for and getting close to Rupees 80 lakhs per film. At this rate many believe that she will soon demand One Crore per film once she delivers a hit. And Trishna is not alone in jacking up her price. Other heroines like Genelia are also reported to have jacked up their prices.
2011/2/10 12:04:56 Milk white beauty Tamannah after enjoying a lime light at Kollywood, is returning home with a big bang. She has four films in hand with all the big heroes of Tollywood. Though, she blames that, Kollywood film makers couldn’t offer her right stories and apt roles in their films, in fact she was said to be rejected by them for her unduly demand for remuneration. But, this over smart babe is trying to bluff the media, who very well knows about the heroines and their demands.
When, she came to know about these gossips circulating in the media, she condemns them as mere rumors. She said that, still the Kollywood film makers are queuing up before her house seeking her dates for their films.
2011/8/18 14:34:27 So far, there were no complaints against Tollywood noted producer Bellamkonda Suresh. But, for the first time a complaint comes from young hero Ram who didn’t get his full remuneration before completing their ‘Kandireega’ movie. The matter went to MAA and Producers council and somehow it was sorted out.
Prior to this, Bellamkonda Suresh is also said to be troubled Ravi Teja and Priyamani over remuneration issue. They both were not paid for their work in film ‘Sembho, Shiva Sembho’ movie and in addition Priyamani also didn’t get her full remuneration for her work in ‘Golimar’ film. Since, both the films failed at box office they both were not in a position to demand him for the payment and thus the matter goes unnoticed. Some time ago he proposed to produce a film in Nandini Reddy’s direction, but it didn’t take shape only because of this problem.
The matter reaches the media only when Ram has refused to do his next film with Bellamkonda Suresh. Now, it is time for Bellamkonda Suresh to be honest with his artists otherwise no doubt he will loose his credibility in the industry in no time.
The relationship between the media and film industry is inseparable, though often it strains because of rumors and actors' harsh statements. We have seen innumerable gossips on artists and occasionally sharp statements by actors like Siddarth. However, the eternal relationship between them continues forever overcoming all the problems.
Hot babe Sameera Reddy also has come to such a point where she had a clash with media people, over gossips about her demand for remuneration, though she is not established in Tollywood or Bollywood.
When, a media person asks about her 'demand for Rs.1 crore remuneration,' she virtually turned fireball on him. She said "If you people think that my market value is that much it is well and good. But, putting the same on print is very bad, because, no one has any information about my remuneration. You guess some thing and develop it into a spicy story, only to grab the people attention. If, anyone of you can prove that I am demanding or taking Rs.1 crore, I will give you Rs.50 lakhs as prize. Let anyone prove it with proper evidence. It is producers who decide how much we are worth and they pay accordingly. But, no producer would come to industry to distribute his hard earned money to everyone who demands for it."
Something is fishy. All new heroines that are imported all happen to be paired with Prashant. Beginning from Aishwarya Rai, the list will stretch like the Mount Road. In the film 'Pulan Visaranai II' directed by RK Selvamani, not one or two, but there are three heroines. In short, he is being featured as a junior James Bond. For the 007 films they used to choose heroines, one from Andaman and the other from Australia. But Selvamani to his capacity has chosen heroines one each from Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra. What is more interesting is that all of them belong to different faiths.
Kartika (Hindu) from Kerala is appearing as a tennis sportsperson in 'Pulan Visaranai II'. Aswini from Karnataka is a Christian. She is being featured in the film as a police officer. The third Adhim Khan (Muslim) is acting as a college student.
The studio circles are thrilled with Selvamani's choice of heroines who are from different States and belonging to three different faiths. If the movie too turns out to be thrilling, Selvamani would be smart!
It is not just the heroes and heroine who demand an astounding sum for doing a film. The directors in Tollywood are no less when it comes to charging remuneration.
A young director who has given a couple of hits recently is reported to be charging over 2 crores for a film. And the producers are only too happy to oblige. Hope the trend catches on and Cinematographers and Music directors too start getting huge remuneration.
Trisha’s latest film ‘Bheema’ with Vikram in the lead is being dubbed in Telugu. The film directed by Linguswamy is ready to hit the screen soon. Trisha has done some scintillating song numbers in the film. Trisha’s career graph is on the rise of after the success o her Telugu film ‘Adavari Maatalku Ardhaale Verule’ with Venkatesh. She has jacked up her remuneration abnormally in the recent past and the producers are apprehensive that she may hike her remuneration further shortly.
Mohanlal's age is very much inversely in proportion to the ages of his heroines. The older he becomes, the younger his heroines get. These days, the number of heroines is also increasing. There was a time when he'd usually act with two heroines.
Now, the number has risen to four!!! 'Kartika Thirunaal Karthikeyan' is the name of the new film that he is working in. DS Suresh Babu is the director of the film. The film is going to have four heroines- Parvathy Melton (of 'Hello' fame), Padmapriya, Swetha Menon (who is becoming a regular in most of his recent films) and the bulky & voluptuous Namitha.
Namitha's role in the film hasn't been officially confirmed yet. If she accepts the offer, this would be her first film in Malayalam. Parvathy Melton was dead against working in Malayalam films in future. But it looks as if she too had decided to change her mind.
The film's shooting begins in the first week of March 2008.
