There was a time when media has boasted that, Telugu film industry got another Savitri for it in the name of Swathi (Colors Swathi). But, after her successful film Ashta Chamma all her films were commercially failed including her last film KSD Appalaraju. However, she bagged good marks for her performance in ‘Golconda High School’ which is also failed because of its seriousness and lack of entertainment.
Ever since, she is in desperate mood and badly looking for any movie that can offer her to project as a glamour doll. But, no one has come forward except her previous film director Indraganti Mohan Krishna. He has offered her the lead role in her next movie tentatively titled as Thokkudu Billa. Upcoming actor Sushanth is acting as hero of the film. His mother A.Naga Susila and Ch.Srinivasarao are co-producing this film.
Story, screen play, dialogues and directions: Indraganti Mohana Krishna.
The chirpy Swathi popularly known as colours Swathi has so far done roles that showed her as a teenager who is clearly confused about life as well as life. She is now all set to shed this image.
Swathi is now acting in the film Golconda School. She is playing a mature woman in the film. No more teeny-bopper dialogues and teeny-weeny skirts and frocks. Swathi will be seen fully clad in a sari looking like a matured woman who knows what she is doing.
We have to see how far the audiences and fans of Swathi will like her in her new avatar. The film is being directed by Indraganti Mohankrihsn who made Swathi popular with the film Ashta Chemma.
2007/12/28 16:28:08 Colours Swathi as she is popularly known is now moving around with Manchu Manoj. She and Manoj are painting the town pink, according to some film buffs in the industry. Manoj does not have any big film in hand and Swathi is also on the lookout for big roles. She hopes that Manoj will land her a big role in one of his home productions. Swathi played a prominent role in the Venkatesh and Trisha film ‘Adavaari Maatalaku Ardhaale Veerule’.
2011/8/7 8:23:39 Tollywood has never shown any native sentiment in selecting the heroines for its films. In fact, it rather prefers to introduce girls from north and Kerala than encouraging the local talent. We have Gadde Sindhura, Bindhu Madhavi, Swathi and many more who were simply ignored by the Telugu film producers. While, Sindhura is coming with her thriller ‘Killer’ after a long interval, Bindhu Madhavi and Swathi were forced to find their fate at Kollywood. However, maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has shown some liking towards Swathi and given her a role in his ‘KSD Appala Raju.’ But, we know how it has failed at box office thus leaving Swathi nowhere. Hence, RGV once again has offered Swathi a role in his upcoming Hindi movie ‘Department.’ She has to share screen space with Manchu Lakshmi and Daggubati Rana in this movie. Swathi is quite happy to find a film before she goes idle. She even hopes this Hindi film may pave her way into Bollywood.
2011/6/16 13:07:29 Movie web sites have reported that bubbly girl Swathi is acting in Ram Charan’s film Rachcha. But, Swathi denies those reports.
“I came to know some web sites have mentioned my name in Rachcha movie. But, it is not true. So far, no one from the movie has approached me offering a role in it. I have signed one Tamil movie to be directed by Samudrakhani. If, these reports about my acting in Rachcha movie become true, I would be very happy for it, because I love to act with Ram Charan,” says the bubbly Swathi.
2011/6/1 8:08:39 Colors Swathi, who is desperately waiting for a film offer, finally got a chance, but with tall boy Allari Naresh. Samudrakani will direct this movie. Kollywood director and producer Shasikumar is also acting in this film. ‘Shopping Mall’ movie fame Anjali is pairing with him in this movie.
Swathi is currently doing guest role in Ram and Hansika starrer movie ‘Kandhireega.’ Although, Swathi looks cute and good in performance, many opine that her height is her draw back and she is a mismatch for tall heroes like Allari Naresh and Sumanth. However, it is not her problem but director and hero have to think about it. So, Swathi is simply signing all the films that come in her way.
The movie David Billa in Telugu titled from Billa 2
2012/4/24 13:20:20 The Telugu version movieThe David Bila, this titled was taken from of Ajith’s upcoming Tamil film Billa 2 with the tagline The Beginning. Both the versions will release simultaneously in the first week of June.
Billa 2 has Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah playing the female leads and directed by Chakri Tholeti. The music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Item numbers feature Gabriel Bertante and Meenakshi Dixit while supporting roles are played by Vidyut Jamwal and Sudhanshu Pandey.
Nayanatara and Namitha with Ajith’s Billa (2007), directed by Vishnuvardhan was a huge hit. This film was remade in Telugu with the same title and starred Prabhas. Billa 2 is not a sequel but a prequel.
Colors Swathi, being a talented Telugu girl everyone expects that, Telugu film industry certainly hugs this bubbly girl. Tollywood pats her for her excellent performance but offers nothing to her. Both her recent films ‘Golconda high school’ and ‘KSD Appalaraju’ lead her to nowhere. Frankly speaking, right now she has no Telugu films in hand. More over, she is now facing threat of being tagged as serious actor and not fit for glamour doll roles. It is because of her roles that she played in films Anantapuram and G’ high school.
Even if Tollywood turns blind eye on her, Kollywood is always there to hug the talented artists like her. Swathi got an offer from Kollywood director Samudrakhani. She is selected for the female lead in Tamil film Porali. Initially, the film makers have plans for Trisha to play the female lead, but later they have decided that, Swathi is the right person to play that particular role.
Sushanth’ nephew of hero Nagarjuna made his debut with Kalidasu. The film hit the screens all over the state today. The film is about an uneducated Kalidasu played by Sushanth who comes to the aid of students whose college land is about to be grabbed by an evil politician.
Trish makes a guest appearance in the film. But it is not the actual heroine Trisha but a character named Trisha. The role has been played by; hold your breath, Jayaprakash Reddy! He comes to the court to give evidence in a case dressed up as a woman named Trisha.
2011/4/28 4:28:01 Allari Naresh and colors Swathi are pairing for a bilingual film to be made in Telugu and Tamil named as Porali (Tamil version title). Producer Shasikumar who introduced her to Kollywood with film Subrahmanyapuram is again producing this movie and also playing an important role in this movie. A new girl Vasundhara will be introduced as second heroine in this film. Samudrakhani is directing this movie.
Swathi despite proving her talents in Tollywood fails to bag any new films in Telugu. So, she is signing this bilingual film.
2011/4/12 10:25:52 The cute and bubbly girl colors Swathi has proved her acting talents with all her previous films. Later, she lends her voice to glamour doll Ileana in film Jelsa for which she bagged good marks. Then, she has revealed her another talent in the audio release function of Naga Chaitanya’s ‘100% Love.’ The audio of this film was released on Monday evening at Rock gardens in Hyderabad. All the big heads like D.Rama Naidu, D.Suresh babu, Allu Aravind, Danaiah, Nagababu, C.Kalyan, Shiva Prasad Reddy, Nagarjuna, Ram, director Sukumar, Devisri Prasad and many others have graced the occasion.
Music director Devisri Prasad, who always loves to rock the programs with his terrific dance and music shows, has encouraged Swathi to join his show on the stage. Then, both of they along with their troop have rocked the show singing the song A2, B2 song of 100%Love film. Guests and audiences, who were quite surprised to see her singing with so ease, gave her a big hand at the end of her show.
Most probably, one day we may find Swathi either singing songs for her own character in the films like the yesteryear actress Bhanumati did for her characters or if she fails to bag the right films she may even settle as a play back singer.
2011/1/31 15:42:54 Tollywood beauty Anushka has signed the sequel of Tamil film Billa. She will be pairing with Kollywood actor Ajith in this film. Vishnuvardhan will direct this film. The film is expected to commence in April. Anushka who gave a splendid bikini show in Telugu Billa is expected to repeat the treat for Tamil audiences now.
Nearly two weeks after Billa released in Tamil Nadu, the movie hit screens in Kerala. But the delay has in no way dampened the response! Billa is officially the Christmas season rocker! The movie is said to have raked in loads more in cash and appreciation than Malayalam Moghul Mohanlal's Flash.
Movie buffs who were disheartened by the not-so-entertaining Flash, were absolutely awestruck by Billa. The number of Thalai fans in God"s own country have increased manifold. His suave looks and don-perfect attitude, have just floored the audiences in Kerala. Vishnu's Hollywood style-making has impressed the Kerala audience greatly, as has Yuvan's music and Nirav's camera work.
The movie released in 25 screens on 28th December 2007 and has been running to packed shows since. Billa marks Ajith's biggest opening in the state yet! The King of Openings has proved that he is King even in neighbouring lands!
The market buzz is that Ajit's Vishnuvardhan directed Billa, will not make it for Diwali! The last two songs are to be picturised in Malayasia for the film from October 8, and Vishnu keeps on saying that he will have the film ready for Diwali!
Trade sources have indicated that a major corporate is on the verge of snapping up Billa Indian theatrical rights for a fancy price. And the corporate have indicated to the producer Ananda Suresh, that they would prefer a December release as all good theatres in Chennai, Kovai and Madurai have signed up to play ATM, Vel and Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om, this Diwali.
And in the international market all theatres screening Indian films have been booked by Eros Entertainment, Bollywoods leading overseas distributor who has snapped up Om Shanti Om world theatrical rights for a whopping Rs 75 crore and the first Indian film releasing with 2000 prints!
Added to that there is the Hollywood studio Sony pictures, Sanjay Leela Bhansali film they have produced Saawariya, which is also releasing for Diwali worldwide. Vijays ATM itself is finding it difficult to get overseas theatres! So in all probability Billa will release only in December, when it has the advantage of a solo release.
Another indication that the film may not release for Diwali is that the overseas distributor of Billa is Ayngaran International, and they have a strategic tie-up with Eros!
The latest buzz doing rounds in Kollywood is that 'Billa', a remake of yesteryear Rajnikanth classic titled the same, will hit the screens on 12 December. Call it quite appropriate for it is Super Star Rajnikanth's birthday.
Produced by Anandha Suresh and directed by Vishnuvardhan, the new version of ‘Billa’ features Ajith in dual roles with Nayantara and Namitha giving him company. Yuvanshankar has scored the music.
A major portion of the movie was shot in Malaysia.
“It is a trendy and chic film. It's an honest remake and we have not tried to experiment with the storyline”, says Vishnuvardhan.
The hit film 'Don' staring Amitabh Bachchan has been remade with Shah Rukh Khan as hero. The Tamil film 'Billa' starring Rajnikanth was remade with Vijay. Naynatara played the female lead in the film. NT Rama Rao starred in the Telugu version Yugandhar.
The film is now being remade with Ravi Teja in the lead role. Nayantara is being considered to play the heroine in the film. Nayanatra made a big splash with her bikini show in the film Billa. So the Telugu audience can expect an encore of that hot show by Nayan! Mehar Ramesh will direct this film.
