Three Kannada films that have created big hype – 'Kshana Kshana','Hudugaata' and 'No.73 Shanthinivasa' are releasing on June 1.
'Kshana Kshana' has Dr.Vishnu, Aditya and Prema in the lead directed by popular director Sunilkumar Desai. 'Hudugaata' has hot and happening star Comedy Time Ganesh and Rekha directed by debutant Sanjay and 'No.73 Shanthinivasa' is actor Sudeep's second directorial venture under his home banner in which Shivarajkumar and Dr.Vishnuvardhana make special appearances.
With 'Mungaru Male' and 'Dhuniya' occupying maximum theatres in Karnataka, it is not with a big zeal the three top films are releasing this week. Comedy Time Ganesh 'Hudugaata' releasing after 150 days of his 'Mungaru Male' may bring the crowd but the other two films 'Kshana Kshana' a thriller of Sunilkumar Desai and No.73 Shanthinivasa of Sudeep are big films.
It is a make of break situation for these three films releasing on June 1, as all recent films have been wash-outs due to the rage created by 'Mungaru Male' and 'Dhuniya'. The new mantra in Kannada cinema seems to be innovative content and slick presentation with big banners and superstars taking a back seat.
With hardly two weeks left for the Vishu releases, curiosity is growing about the blockbusters that are going to hit the theatres. And consequently the industry has started to get its Onam releases ready. Atleast three big films are getting ready for Onam this year. Nasraani is the name of the film that will bring director Joshi together with Ranjit. Mammootty is playing the role of a Christian man. The film's shooting begins in June and will be ready for an Onam release.
Prithviraj, Jayasurya and Pooja star in director Shafi's Chocolate. Towards the end of April, the film's shooting will begin. Vaishak Films will release this one. Mohanlal has a series of films that will be ready for release by Onam. For the time being however, competition is on between Mohanlal's Chota Mumbai and Mammooty's Big B. Both the films are going to be released in another few days.
The film which is affected most by Sivaji postponement is Kireedam, which was supposed to release for May 1 (Ajit’s birthday). Now Kollywood is abuzz with rumours that Kireedam release is preponed to May end after Sivaji dates were pushed to June 15!
When Moviebuzz contacted Suresh Balaji the producer of the film he said: “We are sticking to the scheduled date of June 29. In fact, the film is ready and final mixing has been temporarily stopped as there is no point in getting a product ready a month before the release date. We would have loved to come out with the film early, but the theatres and distributors are not willing to release another biggie 15 dates before or after the release of Sivaji.”
In fact, Kireedom is a brilliantly packaged emotional family entertainer with action in the right mix. The film is sure to give Ajit a new image and the songs and its picturisation are a major highlight. Now Suresh Balaji who was busy getting the film ready is planning to take a break and go for a holiday with his family and come back by mid-June.

For the first time ever, there will be no major Malayalam film releases for Onam 2008!
This year Onam falls on September 12, a week before that the Ramzan fasting period will start. During the Noyambu season producers do not like to release new films as patronage in cinema theatres in Malabar area will be poor.
So the superstars have decided not to have any new releases for Onam. They are all now targeting October 2, Ramzan day in Kerala and from October 7, it is Pooja holidays.
Mammootty, Mohanlal and Dileep will have Ramzan releases, though which one will make it has not been confirmed.
As of today Mammootty's next release is likely to be Vande Mataram on Friday July 4, while the multi-starrer Twenty:20 is scheduled to release on Friday, June 27.
Mohanlal's next big release is Madambion July 25, Friday or August 1. Dileep is doing Siddique's next film which will be a Ramzan release. Pritviraj's next big release is One way Ticket on July 18, in which Mammootty plays a guest role.
2007/5/31 13:55:35 The monsoon is round the corner. While the state has seen some rain fall, the movie buffs are gearing themselves up for a feast. For it is going to rain movies this June. Producer Vasu says, 'The title of our film itself gives a great feeling. The audiences would get a feel of watching the Lillies (Jajimallelu) in moonlight while watching the film. The censor formalities were completed recently.
We are making efforts to release the film by the end of June. Director Vaikunta Lavya says, 'The hero will have all sorts of bad habits. A beautiful girl enters into his life and the hero loses his heart at first sight. With this, there will be a change in his lifestyle. He gets ready to do any kind of sacrifice for her. What is the situation that led to the changes in his lifestyle is the subject of the movie.'
Our Thalai Ajit's birthday on May 1 was to be celebrated with a lot of fanfare with the release of his Kireedam. However producer Suresh Balaji has now taken a decision not to release the film immediately, as it may clash with the release of Superstar Rajnikanth's Sivaji.
As per unconfirmed trade reports Sivaji is likely to release on May 17, and all the leading theatres in Tamilnadu wants to play the film. So the exhibitors do not want any other film to take unnecessary risk a fortnight before or after its release and clash with the titan. In all probability depending on Sivaji release, Kireedam may release only in June.
When contacted Suresh Balaji confirmed the news and says: "All postproduction work is complete and the film is ready for release. But I think, we should not release the film prior to the release of the most eagerly awaited film of the year. So we will take a call on the Kireedam release only after consulting our distributors and after Sivaji release dates are announced."

Shankar left Chennai with his family for a holiday abroad, early Wednesday morning (June 6). What has caught Sivaji watchers unaware is that the director all these years takes a break only a week after the release of his film and never before!
But sources close to Shankar say that this time, the tension and hype was getting too much and he suddenly decided to take a break. Last Sunday (June 3), Shankar saw a final print of Sivaji, at Prasad Preview theatre in Chennai. He wanted to see what the audience will see in the theatres on June 15. He also checked out randomly the prints that were already made, and cleared them.
Now that everything is set for the release of the film, he thought that it is the best time to get away from the pre-release jitters, unnecessary tensions and pressures from all quarters for bytes and interviews. As per unconfirmed reports Shankar is chilling out in New York from where he will go to Canada.

Directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by DVV Danaiah on the banner of Universal Media 'Dubai Seenu' with Ravieja and Nayanatara in the lead is ready for release on June 7. Producer Danaiah says, 'The story best suited to the body language of Raviteja and it is almost like a tailor-made story for him.
Raviteja had just played with the character like anything. What was the aim of 'Dubai Seenu' and how he achieved is the subject. Especially, the film was coming after the release of a blockbuster like 'Desamuduru' from our banner and it is quite natural that the audiences keep high expectations on the movie. The technicians and artistes worked hard to reach those expectations.
Nayanatara had not only filled the glamour slot but also had good scope to perform. Her dance movements would attract the youth. There are six songs in the film. Two were shot in sets, two were canned in Mumbai, while one each were choreographed in Europe and Dubai.' Manisharma scored music for the movie.

A Kannada producer has obtained a stay order from Karnataka High Court on Badrinath release in the state. There was an agreement between the Kannada film producers that all the other language films can be released only after a week of its release at its home state. Its decided so to safeguard the interests of Kannada films. But, this agreement has been ignored since many years and all the other language films were releasing in Karnataka on the same day of its release at their home state. Hence, the Karnataka High Court has issued stay order on Badrinath release.
