In a significant outcome of the meeting held between the producers council and the Tollywood actors today, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Jr.NTR, Venkatesh, Maheshbabu, Ram Charan Tej, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam and Venu Madhav have signed an agreement accepting a slash in their remunerations. They also agreed to follow the other guidelines mentioned by the producer’s council.
Using of own vehicles for attending the shootings in the city limits, restricting to one personal assistant in the locations, strictly following of working hours and time schedule, accepting the remunerations and other allowances in installments rather than demanding for one time payment are few of the conditions that were signed by these actors today. It’s expected that rest of the stars will also follow them without raising any objections. If, this agreement comes into effect, small producers will get relief between Rs.50-60 lakhs for each film and big producers roughly can save Rs2-3 Crores on each film.
However, whoever sat at the negotiation table, very well know that when it comes to practical the same producers will certainly try to lure the actors by offering remuneration other than mentioned in the agreement, and the actors who signed the agreement may demand for their own choice of remuneration as signing a film agreement is strictly confidential matter between the actor and the producer. All the actors know that, if the producer is really needed their dates, he will go to any extent for obtaining their call sheets. Unless, both the parties sincerely deals the situation in no way the agreement is useful to film industry.

2011/10/21 18:01:09 The bakery at sub-jail No.2 in Tihar has been busy. For the first time, the inmates of India's largest prison have rolled out cookies, naan khatai and namkeen in special Diwali gift packs for the market.
With "TJ's Celebrations" inscribed on it, the gift pack - in two varieties - costs far less than many high-end brands. The prison is also selling candles and diyas under TJ's brand.
"This is the first time Tihar Jail has come up with Diwali gift packs made especially by the inmates," Tihar Jail spokesperson Sunil Gupta told IANS.
These items are being baked and prepared at the bakery unit in sub-jail No.2 ahead of Diwali which falls Oct 26 this year.
A one-kilogram pack comes for Rs.150 and contains three kinds of cookies, naan khatai and four types of namkeen whereas a 750-gm pack costs Rs.115, and contains two kinds of cookies, naan khatai and three kinds of namkeen.
And, as for the taste of these goodies, no less than Minister of State for Home Affairs Jitendra Singh vouches for it.
"It's awesome! I had never imagined that such delicious cookies are made here," Singh said on his visit to Tihar to inaugurate a Spice Unit.
"It is heartening to know that these inmates possess such great skills. Other jails may also take a cue from Tihar and innovate."
While news of adulterated sweets selling in the market is doing the rounds, the jail authorities say the quality and hygiene of TJ's sweets are being strictly monitored.
"We have made sure that the quality of these items does not go for a toss. Special attention has been given to hygiene and quality," said Gupta.
In a new initiative, the prison has even tied up with three dealers in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida to sell the products.
Tihar prison Director General Neeraj Kumar told IANS: "The packs are available at various outlets of Kendriya Bhandar, Delhi Police and city court canteens. We have three dealers who are selling TJ's Celebrations."
What's more, TJ's Celebrations has made it to one of the capital's swankiest malls, Select City Walk.
In coordination with the mall, the Tihar authorities have organised a five-day exhibition - "Redefining Life Behind Bars" - which began Wednesday.
"We are exhibiting at the mall. Our gift packs, candles and diyas will also be sold at the mall till Diwali," said Gupta.
Tihar, one of the largest prison complexes in South Asia housing almost 11,000 prisoners, has also made coloured candles and earthen lamps.
"There are eight varieties of candles in various sizes and colours which are up for sale this Diwali," Tihar's Superintendent B.R. Meena told IANS.
"Like TJ's Celebrations, these candles can be found in many stalls and markets in the country," he added.
The price of candle packs ranges from Rs.20 to Rs.65 depending on the number of sticks. "These too are also sold under a brand name - TJ's Candle." (IANS)

Mehar Ramesh is now readying a story for his next film. It is believed that this tike, Mehar has cast his eyes on another young sensation in Tollywood, the stylish Prince Mahesh Babu. Mehar is a close friend of Mahesh Babu and is now planning to make his next film with him in the lead.
Work on the film may commence after Mahesh Babu completes ‘Varudu’ directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
2011/1/20 19:29:10 The handsome hero of Tollywood Nagarjuna is getting ready for his next movie ‘Damarukam’ a socio fantasy film. 2011/4/21 18:39:34 It seems Ram Charan Tej is really passing through his bad times. He took enough time to come out of ‘Orange’ shock and spent weeks and weeks hearing stories for his next film. Finally, he has zeroed upon Sampath Nandi’s script and prepared for the film shooting that is supposed to start 25th of April. He even, went to US and sweats a lot in a big gym to put up some extra packs on his lean chest. But, the strike call given by the film federation employees drops a wrench in his project. Hence, his film shooting has been postponed until the Tollywood restarts its activities.
This film is tentatively titled as Rachcha and Tamannah will play the female lead opposite Ram Charan Tej. Devisri Prasad will score music for this film.
2008/4/16 18:23:49 April 17 is a dark day in the history of Tollywood. It was on this day four years go that Soundarya was killed in a plane mishap. No need to say this is also another romantic entertainer with Varun mark.
Charmy is now trying a new ‘Manthra’ to woo big heroes. Charmy has acted with big heroes at one time including Nagarjuna. But she somehow she lost out to other heroines and is now doing films with lesser known heroes and small directors. She is desperate to get back into films with top actors.

Shah Rukh Khan doesn't mind success of other actors
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says the success of other Indian movie stars does not detract from his achievements.
The commercial success of others has never made him feel ``any lesser or more successful,'' SRK, who turned 42 on Friday, said to a newspaper.
Over the past decade movie magazines have given SRK the highest rating in polls on the country's best actors, but stars like Salman Khan , Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are serious contenders for the top slot.
``Today the concept of a single star ruling seems to be slowly phasing out,'' said SRK. ``It's like a league of movie stars, all very secure, happy, singing, dancing.''
The King Khan compared Bollywood's number one slot to professional tennis rankings that change based on current performance.
``It's beautiful. Aamir, Salman, Akshay and I, we are all big stars today,'' Khan said. ``It's like tennis ranking. One Grand Slam and there you go.''
Actors at special screening of ‘Pirates of Caribbean’
The otherwise busy actors of Tollywood took some time off to attend the special screening of the film ‘Pirates of Caribbean – at World’s end’ at the PVR cinemas in Hyderabad. Actor Venkatesh came along with his wife and two kids. Allu Arjun, Navdeep and his friends were all spotted having a gala time at the venue. The actors seemed to enjoy every minute of their outing with their family and friends.
Amitabh Bachchan: “I don’t know politics … I’m never going to do politics again!
2006/11/24 18:48:00 When you’re a top-of-the-line superstar, you don’t hide your age. Not even by a year. So, when I mentioned him being ‘63’, Amitabh Bachchan laughed, “Its 64! Get it right. And in some months I’ll be 65!” Oops! But then, with the rest having fallen by the wayside … he interrupts sternly, “Says who? It’s tough.
At 65 the bones creak and you don’t have that kind of energy and will. But because there are commitments - a joy being in front of the camera trying to play as many different roles as possible, and to feed your stomach - one has to work!”
Still, most stars half that age were probably into Botox already?
“I don’t think so. I don’t think that’s a very fair remark, I think that each individual has his own capacity, his own desire as to what he’d like to do. I have decided I need to work, others have decided to take it easy. I think both of us need to be looked at it dispassionately; its not fair to say that they are lesser privileged, or in a lesser physical state. We’re all in the same boat. Maybe some opportunities have come my way, and others may not actually want to be in front of the camera. I just consider myself fortunate!”
Indeed. With actors like (Babul costar) Rani and Aishwarya, calling him the original rockstar …?
“These terminologies are very recent, very ‘now’ generation. I cannot understand them. The vocabulary has undergone a sea change; so I really don’t know what they mean by ‘rockstar’. They’ll have to express themselves and tell us what they mean by that. I believe they’re trying to say that I am immobile, because I’m stiff as a ‘rock’ ... These are very generous remarks, one doesn’t take them too seriously, we love them for it and I admire them for trying to include me in their vocabulary, its great fun being with them, both Aishwarya and Rani - wonderful human beings, wonderful artists, great company, always a joy.”
He’d expressed angst at the word ‘metrosexual’ too? Men who had no qualms about wearing pink shirts with panache?
“I think it’s a matter of personal choice rather than anything else. If I feel comfortable wearing pink, I’ll wear it.
I like that color and if it signifies metrosexuality, so be it.”
And dashing as he is, from the current crop, who would he like to romance onscreen?
He laughs, “All of them. They’re all such wonderful human beings. They’re not just creatively wonderful artists, as human beings, as people, as personalities, they have the looks, they have the talent, it would be a great joy. I envy some of the younger generation who get the opportunity to work with all these wonderful ladies. I wish that people would devise roles and give me opportunities to work with them. There’s only one Ram Gopal Verma who feels that you can make a story about a 60-year-old man getting attracted to an 18-year-old girl, which is nice. But that happens once in a lifetime too.”
But then AB was a once-in-a-lifetime legend too. And films like Babul continued to have his as the epicenter. Did he draw on his own filial strengths for such?
“I wouldn’t say that. It’s not necessary that what you go through in personal life you’ll incorporate that in front of the camera. Most of the time, you’re doing just the reverse. Look at Pran sir; wonderful human being; But look at the kind of roles he’s done. Did that mean that when he got home, he began behaving like what he did in front of the camera? No! We’re all actors who’re given different roles to do. It’s part of our profession.”
And if he got the opportunity to return to politics?
“No! There was never ever any sort of pressure. I don’t know politics, I have settled this once and for all - I’m never going to do politics again!”
