'Vana Vana Velluvaye' remix song in Rachcha

People speak of technical advancement and high budget movies, but when it comes to songs something seems to be wrong. After the death of Veturi, barring Sitarama Sastry in streaks, there is no lyricist who beams confidence and picks the idiom in its desired mould.

No wonder even if the songs are drummed into the ears during the launch, content wise and music wise the life expectancy levels are decreasing.

The easy way out to bring out a song is defined as remix. Old songs and not-so-old songs are coming in droves with a change of beat. Sometimes it is sad that the original song loses its sheen, but that is the trend now.

Ram Charan’s Racha is now having a popular Chiranjeevi number Vana Vana Veluvaye from Gang Leader and is in progressing at Ramanaidu Studios. While the dad had Vijayashanti along his side, Tamannah will be giving company to son. . Sampath Nandi is directing the film and NV Prasad, Paras Jain are producing the film on Mega Super Good Films banner. Mani Sharma is composing music for the film.

It’s all in the family as Magadheera had a remix of Bangaru Kodipetta (Gharana Mogudu) while Akkineni Nagachaitanya’s 100 % Love had Na Kallu cheutunnayi (Premabhishekam). (INN)

    No remixes for Ragini MMS

    2011/4/15 11:42:59

It is the age of remixes and sequels. But Ekta Kapoors Raagini MMS seems to have resisted the temptation to be the newest addition to the list! Though it will be using a seductive number of the golden era, it will not be remixed and will beheard in its original form. Ekta Kapoor and her team decided to use the popular oldie Raat Akeli Hai from Jewel Thief in their new film, as is. The song, originally sung by Asha Bhosale and set to tune by the legendary S D Burman will be one of the high points of the paranormal thriller from the house of Alt Films.

Ekta herself explains why they decided against a remix and are using the original soundtrack, Some classic tunes should just not be touched. They should be enjoyed in their purest authentic form. Raat Akeli Hai is sexy enough in its original form and goes very well with the mood of Ragini MMS.

Coming soon on the heels of the remixed Dum Maro Dum, using oldies seems to have become a growing trend. However, a source close to Ekta denies that this was the result of a trend and says, Some recent remixes of old tunes havent worked and a call was taken to not remix a track like this.

While Dev Anand and Tanuja featured in the original song sequence, everyone in Ektas team seem to be tightlipped about what the situation would be in Ragini MMS.

Can you imagine? Even RGV can't use 'Rangeela'

    2011/6/29 12:05:06

RGV not able to use his own 'Rangeela' song in his new real-life horror film 'Not A Love Story'

It should be easy for Ram Gopal Varma to use A R Rahman's title track from Rangeela, which RGV directed in 1995, as part of the background score for his new real-life horror film Not A Love Story, right?

Wrong! He is being driven up the wall trying to get the rights for his own song from his own film.

The trouble is, he and the film's cast and crew have their hearts set on the Rangeela song. And none on the team of NALS knows how to get out of it.

    Can't imagine

Say a source, "Not in his wildest imagination did Ramu think he would have a problem getting the rights for a song from his own movie.

He ordered a terrific re-mix of Hoja Rangeela Re and it was to be used to set the violent, reckless pace of the crime thriller.

Now, when he is facing a problem with getting the rights of the song, the entire team is depressed. They can't imagine a replacement to this track. The director doesn't know what to do."

    Having no rights

When questioned about it Ramu says, "Yes, I do want to use the song in my next. But the rights are not with me. Yeah, I can't use a song from my own film while others merrily remix songs from other people's films."

Remix culture 'doom' for Indian music: Peenaz

2006/8/5 17:36:42 Western influence and "remix" culture are taking Indian music to its "lowest ebb", noted ghazal singer Peenaz Masani said here today.

Expressing deep concern over "pollution" of Indian music, she said "remix culture with vulgar visualisation has brought the Indian music to bottom line".

Masani, who was here to attend the prize distribution function of a gazal competition, said TV channels must share the blame for this "fast deteroration" of Indian music.

She alleged TV Channels only cared for their vested interests and were not concerned over the legacy of great classical singers like Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and Mohammad Rafi.

"It was a shame that even during the talent-hunt contests being organised by TV channels the main stress was on looks, gestures and presentation and not on melody of music." She said music companies were also neglecting Indian music and promoting remix and resorting to marketing gimmicks which did not (not) augur well for the future.

Claiming that the future of gazals looked bleak, Masani said a congenial atmosphere had to be recreated to motivate the music lovers, especially the younger generation, to develop a love for Indian music and gazals.

PRP President in Congress Rachcha Banda?

2011/1/25 6:52:05 While, even some Congress leaders are showing hesitation to take part in CMs brain child program Rachcha Banda, PRP president Chiranjeevi stood in the front lines actively taking part in this much troubled inter-act program. Chiranjeevi who take part in Rachcha Banda program conducted at his Tirupati constituency stated that, all he knew is to accept the good things as the good things and condemning the bad as bad. If, someone think that it is his political immaturity he cant help.

As expected, finally he was put to face the most embarrassing question that is When will be your party joining the Congress Government? Chiranjeevi, who was visibly annoyed with the question, harshly replied How many times should I repeat to make you understand that we are not joining the Congress Government?

He said that, there is no truth in moving close with Congress party. He refused to make any comment on Congress leaders who dislike and oppose him and his partys involvement in Congress organized programs like Rachcha Banda. He said it is a program intended to benefit the poor people, so being a peoples representative he dont see any thing wrong in participating Congress Government organized Rachcha Banda program.
