A video is now in circulation that purportedly shows the homely heroine Kamailni in the nude.

    Shilpa and sleazy?

    2007/11/16 14:14:00

It appeared like another edition of celebs’ face- off with sleazy videos.

After actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Mallika Sherawat faced the brunt of their sleazy MMS clips doing the rounds of the net a few years ago, there was buzz that a Shilpa Shetty sleazy video has found its way to YouTube. The clip was discovered by Shilpa and her PR team themselves. After they registered a complaint that it was a Shilpa look alike and not the actress herself with YouTube, the clip was immediately taken off.

Dale Bhagwagar, Shilpa’s publicist, said, It’s unfortunate that such things are circulated on the internet. Shilpa would never participate in anything lewd.

However, as DT found out, it was much ado about nothing. The so-called sleazy video is actually a clip of a Telugu film Simhadri. And, the girl in it is not Shilpa at all but yesteryears Rasna girl Ankita Jhaveri.

What’s more, she sees nothing wrong with the clip which gave Shilpa and her team so much headache. "This is a scene from one of my movies. It is a scene with Jr NTR and it is a hilarious scene where an ant goes in my pant. After the scene, the song Chima Chima followed which was a big hit and people noticed me."

And what is her take on her resemblance with Shilpa? "It is a compliment and I am a huge fan of hers. But I also have my own identity. I have been an actress down south for about five years now. And as long as the YouTube clip termed me as a Shilpa look alike, I am okay with it," she says.

Katrina Kaif becomes the most searched for person on Google

    2010/12/16 11:01:09

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has become the most searched for person in the world’s leading search engine, Google. According to Google country head Vinay Goel, the most searched celebrity Katrina Kaif is more popular in Pakistan than in India. YouTube became the fastest rising term in 2008 while Orkut and Gmail remained the most popular networking and communication properties for Indian users.

While speaking to media, Katrina Kaif said that it very nice to get included in the most searched for list as it indicates that the fans are enjoying her works in the movies. According to her, it is a very interesting change as Bollywood is largely male dominated and women come far behind. Katrina Kaif is not only the most searched for Bollywood celebrity, she is also in the list of fastest rising search item across categories in India.

The search engine, Google has published its year-end Zeitgeist, the tool which reveals what internet users are searching for. Goa, Kerala and Kashmir were listed as the top holiday destinations. While developing the 2008 report, Google analyzed various aspects of the search queries to read out the minds of Internet users in India.

Dabangg not a hit with Zandu Balm makers

    2010/9/17 23:45:17

Emami has given Dabangg producer Arbaaz Khan 24 hours to remove 'Zandu Balm' from the song Munni badnaam hui.

According to reports, the company intends to sue on the grounds that the product name was used without their consent.

Emami has given an ultimatum that if their product name is not removed from the song within the next 24 hours, the matter will then be taken to court.

The song in question, Munni..., was key for the promotional campaign for this Salman Khan starrer film and the lyrics of the song, with this 'phrase', has become quite popular. Oddly enough, this issue had not been raised by Emami before the release.

The recently released Dabangg roared at the box office as it opened to a first day net collection of a whopping Rs 14.40 crore - the highest till date at the box office.

The movie directed by Abhinav Kashyap starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha has set a new benchmark. As per official sources, the film has now created a record for earning Rs 48 crore, which is a whopping Rs 6 crore more than 3 Idiots, that had collected Rs 41 crore in the opening weekend.

Now, what remains to be seen is how Arbaaz Khan will deal with this particular bone of contention.

Landmark copyright judgment in favour of T-Series

    2008/6/4 15:39:40

Indian music label T-Series obtained an interim injunction against Yahoo Inc. and Yahoo India from the Delhi High Court on Tuesday. The Court issued a notice, in the interim, restraining Yahoo from streaming T-Series owned content on their portal Yahoo Video. T-Series is the largest music content publisher in India.

Rahul Ajatshatru, Media & Entertainment Lawyer representing T-Series said that they had sent a cease and desist notice with certain samples of infringing material to Yahoo and its Indian subsidiary in February. In response to that, Yahoo sent back a standard response, taking refuge under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Yahoo did not remove the videos, and a reminder notice was sent in March, reiterating T-Series' stand, along with more instances of infringing content.

On not receiving a response from Yahoo, T-Series moved to the Delhi High Court and obtained a restraining order. T-Series has been very active against copyright infringement - their case against YouTube comes up for hearing in July, while they had also filed a lawsuit against Rediff following which Rediff obtained a license from them for iShare.

Like Yahoo, other companies have also sought refuge under the DMCA, saying that they'll remove the infringing material when notified by copyright owners, which is not applicable in India. The problem is, given the rate at which copyrighted content is uploaded on video sharing sites, the copyright owners will soon have to allocate substantial resources just for this purpose.

    Pakistan threatens to block Google

    2011/9/20 9:58:19

Pakistan has threatened to block Google as its administrator was not helping the country's premier investigating agency in nabbing people involved in cyber crime.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the administrators of internet-based search engines like Google and YouTube were not supporting the Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) to tackle cyber crime.

He added that Interpol's help was being sought in this regard, reported The Nation.

If Google did not help FIA in future then a case would be registered against it, the minister said and warned that Google could be blocked in Pakistan for not cooperating.

Since terrorists involved in the Mumbai attacks had used the internet-based telephonic service based in the US, Malik suggested that action should be taken against the service provider according to the country's laws for involvement in cyber crimes.

Lesbian content in Shilpa Shetty's movie

    2011/8/26 11:40:49

Recently we heard that Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra seems unhappy about her intimate scenes with the Chinese star Xia Yu in the film The Desire. But when we saw the first trailer of the film, something else caught our eye.

Besides Shilpa’s cozying up with the Chinese actor, the trailer is also sprinkled with lesbian content. Model-turned-actress Sheetal Menon, who has earlier shot for Kingfisher calendar, is seen on a bed with another actress talking love and desire. Later in the trailer, the Konark temple imagery is used to signify the closeness between the two females.

Though the trailer tries hard to fascinate the audience, it fails miserably even with its sexual connotation and content. Shilpa’s sensuous bed scene, too, couldn’t spark a flame. Shilpa Shetty is in the US, and on Wednesday, attended New York City International Film Festival where The Desire was screened.

Here is the trailer of the film The Desire which has received Best Narrative Feature Film award at the Geneva International Film Festival.

Bihar uploads clips of corrupt officials

2011/10/21 14:38:25 The Bihar government has uploaded clips of complaints against Bihar officials who allegedly sought bribes to implement welfare schemes.

The aim, Rural Development Minister Nitish Mishra said, was "to embarrass and expose the officials".

"We have uploaded clips of complaints against officials who demanded bribes from the poorest of the poor in connection with the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY)," Mishra told IANS. "It is a big hit."

Mishra had vowed nearly two months ago to use YouTube as a tool to expose the corrupt and bribe seekers.

Nearly one million people living below the poverty line were given in August the first instalment of money under IAY to build houses.

The government directed all district officials to make arrangements to record video of complaints by beneficiaries of IAY at the camps.

The move follows increasing complaints by villagers about officials asking for bribes to get work done with respect to the IAY.

The minister said the government had lodged police complaints against 72 officials. "We have also issued show cause notices against them."

The central government has sanctioned over Rs.3,000 crore to build IAY houses this year.
